Hey guys,
So my Intro to Computers class is coming to an end and I have decided to discontinue my Mountain Biking blog. Why this is because I personal do not like being on the computer for long periods of time, I find myself getting board and wanting to walk away from what I’m working on. I also didn’t like the whole blogging scene I fine it very weird that people are posting their lives on the internet. I have not gotten much out of blugging but I have gotten to become a better typer on the keyboard :] I also found other mountain biking bluggs not very interesting, which made me really not want to read them. Maybe in the future I will come back to blugging but I hope not. It seems like there are only two sides of blugging, you like blugging or you don’t like blugging and I found of that I don’t like it but for the people who do like blugging I think they should keep doing what they are doing because it’s something they like.

Hey everyone,
So in a couple of weeks I’m going to be up to Tahoe for a week long mountain biking camp. This camp was only open for riders top 10 and under in my category. Because of this I feel privileged to get this chance to go up to Tahoe and ride with the best. Over the week we are going to be riding at least 2 times a day and have Pro Mountain bikers come teach us and talk to us about their experiences and give us tips. I will be going up to the camp with about 5 or so other bikers on my team and one other girl who was in my category. I’m pretty excited for this camp, it will definitely be a test on how good my biking skills are and my personal health. I’m hoping I will come out of this camp a better rider and learn how to move with my bike better and become more so like one, not me on the bike, me and the bike. Just talking about the camp is getting me really excited so i guess that’s a good thing.
The basic schedule:
9:00 – 12:00 Ride
12:00 – 1:00 Lunch
1:30 – 4:00 Ride or Demonstrations
5:00 – 6:30 Dinner
7:00 – 7:30 Camp Meeting
7:30 – 9:00 Guest Speakers
Hopefully i will love this camp even though it is going to be hard!

Mountain biking with my father has only gotten me closer with him. When we are on our bikes it’s a time that we can bond, share laughs, and give each other mountain biking tips, and much more. My father works a lot so when we go on a ride it’s a time to share new things that are happening in our lives and get closer as father daughter. I feel privileged to live in Marin County and share it with my father and my love (my bike)
My father got me started in mountain biking so I can’t thank him enough for getting me into a sport that I have grown to love and want to do for my rest of my life.
I want to thank him for supporting me
I want to thank him for giving me money to buy mountain biking gear
I want to thank him for getting me into mountain biking
I want to thank him for loving me
Thank you dad for getting me into mountain biking and pushing me to strive for my very best

So this weekend I will be racing in the Tamarancho Invitational Race.
I have never raced in my own backyard of Marin County, so its new to me.
I’m not going there to win all I want out of it is some per old fashion fun!
I will also be racing with a couple of my teammates from the Drake Pirates MTB club so that makes it even more fun!
The race is about 6 to 8 miles on fireroads and singletrack!
I’m not a pro at Tamarancho so it will be intersting to see how I do under some pressure…..I’m totally pumped for this race which I think will help me.
My father and I were going to just help out at the race but i got convinsed from the manger who i know to race so i was like “ok”
At first i was not very excited, for some reason i guess I just didnt want the little bite of stress in my life that comes along with racing.
But it soon only took one day (not even) for me to get very excited and start getting other girls to race with me!
I’m now very happy that my dad and the manager got me to race this Sunday!

China Camp:
Not to long of a ride or to difficult but the views are wonderful…one minute you can be looking out at the East Bay and the next you can be looking down into San Rafeal and San Francisco bay, plus the city. Its a place that I hope every mountain bikers goes to at least once. In the summer most of the riding is shaded by trees and in the winter water falls trickle down the hill sides.
Pine Mountain:
Man I cant even explain how great this ride is! It is diffently my faviorite mountain biking ride!!! Its great because its a long ride and gives you ever kind of riding, downhill, steep up hills, rocky downhills, rocky up hills, fireroads, road, and singletrack, plus in the winter there is tons of mud which is fun sometimes….you can’t ask for a better ride then this, if you ask me. Just talking about it makes me want to go out and ride it instead of talk about it! This is a ride that takes about 4 hours with out long stops, and 4+ hours with more stopping.
-Tamarancho-
No one should get tired of tamarancho….just frustrated haha. Yeah yeah lets get to the good stuff, the singletrack is better then any other singletrack around, maybe because its about the only good singletrack around, i dont know but I do know that it is fun and hard at the same time. EVERYONE needs to ride Tamarancho when they feel like they are more then a beginner. The switchbacks are challenging but when you master then it feels like you just took over the world, its by far the best feeling!

This year for the first time the Norcal Mountain Biking league is invited to the 2009 USA National Championships in Granby, Colorado. The top 15 girls and boys from each division qualify’s to go to the race.
I feel like this is a once in a life time experience because next year they might not invite the league to the 2010 race so I’m taking this remarkable opportunity and for sure going to the race. I’m not sure what this race will be like or how hard the course will be or how many people will be racing in my division. This will be a whole new experience which I’m ready and pumped for! I’m going to this race to have fun and put this experience under my mountain biking belt for years to come. I’m not going there to win, I’m going there for my love of mountain biking and to share it with other people who are in the same boat as me. I hope this race will be better then any other race i have been in!!!!
Here is the offical website for the race……

2009 Nocal State Championships
Boggs Mountain, California May 17
Around 300 riders came to Boggs Mountain last weekend and rode up to 24 miles dependening on what class. With so many people there i thought Norcal did an excilent job of maintaining everyone and everything. It was hot and dusty and still everyone was excited and happy. I can’t wait tell next year for state championships and everything else!

The trails at Tamarancho were all built by volunteers from the Bicycle Trails Council of Marin. My top 4 mountain bike trails!
These trails are amazing, these trails range from fire roads to single track to double track. In your life time you’ll have to ride them, its worth making a trip to Marin County. You will not only be riding the trails were mountain biking started but the views and weather are amazing.
1. Gentlemen’s Loop- This loop starts at Deer Park and makes a hug loop around Lauginitas Lake and gives you endless amounts of wildlife to look at. This is not a very long ride but its worth doing, it gives you up hill, long down hills and more steady up hills. This is a good ride to go on if you want an easy day on your bike.
2. Tam Mountain- Riding up Indian Fire Trail with Tam Mountain on your right and Mill Valley on your left is an amazing sight. This ride circles around Tam Mountain until you reach the east peek and soon drops you back down the moutain. This is around a 34 mile ride and is worth every petal stroke.
3. Tamarancho- Technical, technical, technical, that pretty much sums up the whole ride. This ride is a perfect ride for someone who is confident on their bike and loves technical trails; it’s a ride with endless amounts of roots, trees, rocks and single track. It’s worth going on to see the views of Marin and to test your skills on your bike.
4. Queen stone- It’s long, hard and up ride. Its a 22 mile ride and starts in Sleepy Hollow, located in San Anselmo and ends in Fairfax. This ride takes you all the way from Marin Wood and Drops you down to Big Rock trail. This ride is fun and exciting, though it’s definitely not a beginners trail. The ride is only 22 miles but its not a easy 22 miles, the whole ride is up and down but mostly up and just enough of down hill to kind of rest your legs. The views are amazing! This is a ride every mountain biker should try to go on!
